“Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you.” John 6:27
| Creator God, Too often I work for the food that perishes.
I work for food that is rotten,
Food that tastes like cardboard,
The food that does not satiate.
Redeemer God,
What is this food you have offered?
A food that fills,
A food that gives life,
A food that endures for eternal life?
I cannot wrap my mind around it…
Yet I desire to receive it.
Sustainer God,
I open my hands
To let go of empty work and empty food.
I open my heart and my mind.
Humbly coming to you
For I am hungry,
And believing in you
For I am thirsty.
Thank you for your immeasurable gift.
Amen.
