General Information
Dear PTS Community,
The PTS Board of Trustees has given its approval for replacing the 200 CRW apartments with new ones. Construction began in July 2010. The Seminary will be replacing the 25 CRW buildings, with three, 3- story buildings on the north side of Loetscher place. The pool will be demolished and a new maintenance building will be put in that location. An outdoor pool will be built to replace the current pool.
We understand that this project will cause some major inconveniences for members of the PTS community, especially those who will be living in Witherspoon and CRW. We also hope you understand that the replacement of these apartments is a necessity and that we are doing everything we can to minimize the inconvenience and disruption. This is an huge and exciting project that PTS is undertaking and when we get through all of the construction and headaches, we will have wonderful new apartments for current and future generations of PTS students and their families.
We have established this web page to keep you up to date on how the project is progressing, as well as to show you the plans and design of the new buildings and the site.

Construction Safety
PTS has hired Irwin and Leighton as the general contractor. We are committed to providing safety for our residents in our community. A site logistics plan has been established which will show you some of the precautions. The entire construction site will be fenced in on all sides. We will be removing all parking along Farber and Loetscher to keep vehicles off the street and away from the construction area. A fence will be put along the sidewalk along Farber road to keep residents from crossing over the street and to encourage them to cross at the intersection. Signage for construction entrances and parking will be posted as well.
Abatement site logistics
Overall site logistics Part 1
Please make sure you stay away and out of the construction area. Be aware that heavy construction equipment and vehicles will be moving in and out of the site and up and down our streets. Please remind your children as well.

Construction Report Update:
NOTICES:
Notice: Starting Aug. 18, there will be construction work being done in the parking lot in front of Dupree and the poo. All of the spaces in front of Dupree (15 minute parking) and the first four spaces next to them in front of the pool building will be blocked off and not available the remainder of the week. They are digging in preparation for underground utilities so it will be very noisy. Also, on Thursday and/or Friday, they will need to dig up a portions of the sidewalk directly in front of Dupree as well. The contractor will give us access to the front doors of Dupree and the CN Center; however, at times you may need to go through the parking lot to gain access. They will also be digging across the road from those areas towards Witherspoon. At times the road will be partially blocked, but vehicles will be able to get by.
Notice: Thursday, Aug. 26 there will be an electric shut off at witherspoon from approximately 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. A generator will be installed to provide electric, however, there will still be a brief period without power. Please conserve electric.
Notice: Monday, Sept. 6 is the last day the pool is open. Thanks for 20 years of fun and service the pool has provided to the PTS community since 1988. The pool will be demolished and a the new maintenance building will go in it's place. On outdoor pool will be constructed at the end of Farber next to the new ball field.
Notice: Tuesday September 14 there will be a electric and water shutoff for Witherspoon and the CN Center. The electric will be temporarily shut off; however, a generator will be installed to provide electricity. Work will be done from 8am-1pm that day. Also, there will be a water shut off for about an hour, however, the time is yet to be confirmed.
Notice: Parking Changes coming soon at the West Windsor Campus. With the ongoing construction there is a need for contractor parking. To accommodate that need, contractors will be permitted to park on the streets of Emmons, Loetscher and Farber, 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday and Saturday's, if needed. Therefore, students and their families and visitors must park in the Seminary parking lots. Additional parking lots and walkways will be installed for the convenience of our residents. We will notify you when this goes in effect, and more details wil be available. While the start date is not yet set, it will be very soon.
Notice: September 21, 2010 Dear Residents of CRW and Witherspoon,
Please make note of the important updates regarding the construction at CRW:
Residents of 310 and 312
The parking lot behind those buildings are getting re-striped on Thursday, Sept. 23. Please remove your cars from the parking lot on Wednesday evening and park on the street. The lot will be blocked off that evening and re-opened on Thursday evening.
Also, in case you did not know, the building that is being constructed behind your building is the Temporary Maintenance Building which will be occupied soon (which is why the lot has to be re-striped). Some facilities vehicles will be parked directly in front of it, and others will be parking in a temporary lot between 304/306 building.
Fencing being installed on Farber and Loetcher
As part of our site safety logistics plan, we will be installing fence along Farber road (west side) and Loetscher Place (south side). The fence along Farber will have two small gates in it so you can get in from the road after you park your car and don’t have to walk all the way around it. The fence on Loetscher will not have any gates since parking is not allowed on that side. There will be gaps in the fence at the driveway entrances. Soon another construction entrance will be set up on Loetscher which is the main reason for the fence on that street. Please understand that construction traffic will continue to get heavier along those streets as the project progresses. We want to discourage residents from attempting to cross in the middle of the streets and to use the intersections for safety reasons.
The fence installation will begin this Thursday, Sept. 23. We ask that residents who live on Farber to not park their car on the street that day, during fence installation.
Witherspoon residents/CN Center parking lot
You probably have noticed that giant hole next to the building. That is for the underground storm water storage retention basin system. Soon the CN Center lot will be closed and dug up for the same reason. Temporary drop off parking will be created for Dupree but there will be no other spaces for the CN Center. A new parking lot will be created and completed in a month or two. Than residents will be told to park there as the Witherspoon lot will be closed and dug up for the new construction.
Notice: Friday, October 8, 2010 Beginning Friday, October 8, 2010, our contractor will start construction of our temporary parking lots and walkways at CRW. Attached you will find the site layout of what the work entails.
This work is necessary to create two additional parking lots for our residents when for when we take the student parking off the streets. If you have trouble reading the document, one parking lot will be located between the 304 and 306 building parking lots, the other located between the 202 and 103 lots. We are also constructing asphalt sidewalks connecting from the various parking lots to make it more convenient to access the front entrances of the buildings.
Notice: November, 1, 2010
Beginning November 3, the southern portion of the Witherspoon parking lot will be closed off permanently for the construction new apartment building 3. (map) . To accomodate Witherspoon resident vehicles, we have reserved parking along both sides of Emmons Drive from the driveway entrance at Witherspoon down to Loetscher Place. Signs will be posted indicating that those areas are reserved for Witherspoon residents only. We ask that residents of 310 and 312 who may normally park on the street in front of their buildings, to park in the parking lots behind their buildings.
The temporary parking location for Witherspoon residents will be available until the new parking lot is completed in the front of the CN Center in the next few months. Security will start blocking off the portion of the Witherspoon parking area on Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 2, so please be sure to have your vehicle moved.
Notice: November 17, 2010
The bore hole drilling for the Geo thermal wells will be starting and will continue for the next few months. At times, the drilling may be noisy. These holes are being drilled for the geo thermal heating/cooling for the new apartments.
Notice: November 18, 2010
A reminder to Witherspoon residents that overnight parking is not permitted at the CN Center Circle. Additional parking for witherspoon parking is only allowed at the signed areas. Security will be issuing tickets.
